Both Type B and Type D can be purchased as a standard version, an Optics Ready (OR) Version with a choice of optics cut for RMR, RMRc, and ACRO Footprint Red Dot Optics, a Suppressor Ready (SR) version with 1/2×28 thread-pitch precision-cut barrels, or an Optic and Suppressor Ready (OSR) version allowing all features out of the box. All model versions feature a 1913-style Picatinny rail on the dust cover for weapon light or laser module attachment.

AF-SPEEDLOCK®

The AF‑Speedlock® is a unique pistol locking system that eliminates barrel tilt during the slide cycle, allowing the barrel to move straight back only a few millimeters. This innovative design offers several advantages over traditional Browning-style tilting barrel systems, most notably improved accuracy, particularly for follow-up shots, as it maintains better barrel alignment.

Additionally, with a bore axis of approximately 0.47in (12mm), the AF‑Speedlock® facilitates enhanced recoil management and minimizes muzzle flip. This results in a smoother recoil impulse, faster cycling, and increased control for the shooter. The combination of reduced muzzle flip and improved recoil management allows for easier handling and faster follow-up shots, making the AF‑Speedlock® a compelling choice for those seeking superior performance in their pistol.

Our Factory and History

In 2012, a team of passionate designers, shooters, and industry experts set out to revolutionize handgun performance. Our pursuit of perfection led to the development of the groundbreaking AF-Speedlock® system, a unique locking mechanism that allows the barrel to move straight back without tilting during the firing cycle. This innovative design results in reduced muzzle rise, minimized recoil, faster target re-acquisition, and improved accuracy, especially for follow-up shots. Despite being newcomers to the firearms industry at that time, Archon Firearms entered the market with a distinctive product, and the Archon Type B pistol has since become a growing name in the US firearms market, thanks to its performance-focused features.

Archon Firearms has invested heavily in its own production facility and now offers a complete line of firearms models. This commitment to in-house manufacturing enables greater quality control and allows the company to produce key components independently. Key features of Archon pistols include an extremely low bore axis of approximately 0.47in (12mm) for enhanced control, a state-of-the-art ergonomic grip designed to mitigate recoil, and compatibility with optics and suppressors for added versatility.
